My advice is this: if you really enjoy the gun and it won't just be locked away, then do the whole thing at once if money affords. I find myself in the same boat as you are.wondering. So the question is will it be that noticeable when the rest is finished? The Nitro Special is not worth the money your firearm would command, but I did not acquire it as an investment. The barrels are pretty clean in terms of bluing with the exception of a small spot of wear at the breech where the gun rubs when carried. I have already reamed the chokes for my intended uses and will lengthen the forcing cones in a few days (well worthwhile on a gun to be shot often). ![]() I am restocking mine when my other projects slow down, probably with inlay work and fancy checkering since I do these sort of things. The grace and beauty of a fine gun should be enjoyed afield. I am working on a Lefever Nitro Special I picked up on the last day of duck season.
